This position will be based in Calgary office commencing starting January 2020 for an 8-month work term, reporting into the Canada Tax Department.
The successful candidate will perform the following functions:
Review company transactionsfor potential GST/HST recovery opportunities
Review company transactionsfor Federal Excise Tax and prepare refund claims
Review company transactionsfor Provincial Sales Tax recovery and prepare related refund claims
Assist with other CommodityTax related projects, including Provincial Sales Tax self-assessment
Prepare and file corporateincome tax returns, elections in a timely and accurate manner in alljurisdictions across Canada
Analysis of PP&Eadditions, to prepare tax schedules required for the filing of tax returns
Creating and updatingprocess documentation
Potential to work on additional income tax related projects as identified
Pursuing a Bachelor’sdegree in Commerce or Management majoring in Accounting
Proficient in MicrosoftExcel, Word and PowerPoint
Minimum cumulative GPA of2.8 on a 4.0 scale
Must be legally authorizedto work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
High level of initiative and ability to prioritize andmulti-task
Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
