ConocoPhillips Canada (CPC) is currently recruiting a Calgary based Finance & Performance Analyst, reporting to Supervisor, Commercial Finance. The successful candidate will perform marketing accounting functions related to all commercial operations. This role requires a high level of initiative, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. The candidate must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision in an open trade floor environment.
In addition, as a member of the Canada Finance function, this position offers significant opportunities to participate in cross functional efforts to enhance/streamline finance processes and affords future opportunities in function’s other departments.
Prepare and issue invoices to third parties for monthly commercial settlements, and work with traders/schedulers to settle disputes
Working with counterparties to ensure clear receivables and payables for monthly commercial settlements, reviewing and resolving accounts receivables and payables related to settlement.
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations in line with COP policy
Assist month end closing process, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting for the Canada Commercial group, E&P reporting and Houston Commercial group
Retrieve, prepare and analyze financial data for statutory, regulatory and other monthly internal volumetric/financial reporting (NEB, AB/BC Provincial Gov’t, DOE)
Prepare inter-company transactions and settlements with E&P
Strong and meticulous attention to detail
Other support work within the Commercial finance team as required
Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects/priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with various internal and external parties
Quick learner; willingness to learn
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions
Understanding of the Commercial business would be an asset
Previous experience in oil and gas finance teams through summer employment or coop work term
A desire to pursue to the CPA designation
Understanding of financial reporting, income statements, balance sheets
Strong analytical skills
Exposure or experience with SAP is an asset
