Description

ConocoPhillipsCanada is looking for a Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer to join the AssetIntegrity Team. The RBI Engineer will assume the role of local technicalsubject matter expert for the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) program, which willinclude leading the evergreening tasks of performing reassessments, maintainingand troubleshooting the RBI software (PCMS), creating inspection plans andmonitoring the overall health of the program. The RBI Engineer will be requiredto provide support to site on all RBI related inspections and on all new RBIimplementation projects. The RBI Engineer will also scope and maintain thetime-based inspection program and constant evaluate updates and improvements toboth programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken.

  • Provide assistance on corrosioninvestigations

  • Develop inspection plans for pressureequipment and piping

  • Maintain the Asset Integrity database(PCMS) up to date

  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators areintegrated into Spotfire for real time monitoring

  • Provide field training if required forRBI, PCMS, time-based inspection, etc.

  • Review anomalies, loss of containment toidentify continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities.

  • Participate in HAZOPs, MOCs as required

  • Coordinate with site personnel, facilityengineers, and outside vendors to identify potential cost saving opportunities

  • Provide support with incorporating newequipment into the RBI program

  • Participate in MOCs and HAZOPs asrequired during construction phase.

  • Document key operational learnings.

  • Provide support on RBI implementationduring CAPEX projects to ensure all RBI requirements are accounted for.

  • Become the RBI focal point duringoperations/evergreening phase.

  • Confirm that the RBI program isregularly updated and monitored by ensuring that inspection results, MOCs, newdamage mechanisms, system excursions, etc. are continuously fed back into theprogram.

  • Work with Data Technician and other AIpersonnel to ensure that PCMS is up to date.

  • Provide support with implementing IOWsand ensuring that any excursions have been reviewed, closed and fed back to theRBI program.

  • Work with Ops, FEs, Site AI, ProcessSafety to understand any process upsets that can change the RBI assumptions.

  • Update the RBI PEIMS and all relatedprogram documents and support ABSA audits as required.

  • Attend industry conferences and ifapplicable submit posters/presentations.

  • Identify improvements and cost savingsopportunities through new technologies

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Registered with APEGA as a member-in-training,eligible for professional registration in the next year (P Eng or P.L. Eng) or ASET(P Tech Eng) within the discipline of Mechanical, Welding or Corrosion.

  • Min. 5 yrs of experience in the oil andgas sector mainly in pressure equipment, piping design/construction, inspectionand other asset integrity aspects.

  • Experience in RBI Program Design, Implementationand Evergreening

  • Minimum Certification in API 510 and API580

  • Subject Matter Expert in PCMS including theRBI module

  • ABSA In-service Pressure EquipmentInspector Certification would be an asset

  • Ability and willingness to travel to siteoccasionally

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada ona full-time basis without restrictions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of RBI through API580/581 and AB-505

  • Strong PCMS skills

  • Strong PC skills (MS Office, SAP,Spotfire, Meridium etc)

  • Strong Excel VBA and SQL server skills

  • Knowledge of field operations in SAGDand conventional gas assets

  • Ability to work independently withminimum supervision in the execution of their duties.

  • Knowledge of new construction codes andstandards

  • Knowledge of local jurisdictionalrequirements (ABSA / AER) over and above code requirements.

  • Knowledge of corrosion mechanism andmitigation techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills

  • A self-starter, willing to workindependently and across organizational boundaries

  • Detail orientated and committed toconstant improvement
