If you are selected for the Commercial Consultant position you would primarily support the Kuparuk River Unit (KRU) Operations, Development, and Exploration and is responsible for conducting commercial evaluations and agreements as well as work on Investment Appraisal Special Projects. KRU is a significant area for ConocoPhillips and the Commercial Consultant position plays a key role in creating value by advancing and optimizing the asset. This position reports to the Vice President, Strategy & Commercial in COP Alaska
Your responsibilities may include:
Negotiating and drafting agreements with third parties for infrastructure sharing agreements, Caribou study cost sharing agreements, seawater services, telecom access, road/pad use, etc.
Negotiating and drafting agreements supporting unit operations including operating agreement amendments, satellite processing, tract operations, gas balancing & gas imports, etc.
Issuing letters of non-objection, notices of damaged assets, releases of liability, comments to DNR regarding applications that impact KRU
Advising and consulting on contract interpretation and implementation
Producing quarterly facility sharing reports and providing to Working Interest Owners
Building and updating production tax reimbursement models
Collaborating with other Alaska S&PM team members, the KRU asset team and Commercial organizations to develop economic analysis and strategic guidance in support of business decision-making
Analyzing commercial terms and leading/supporting negotiations with other working interest owners
Evaluating acquisition and disposition opportunities and moving them through the corporate approval processes as appropriate
Decision and Risk Analysis -- providing facilitation and analysis for projects ranging from field development to North Slope seismic to permitting strategies
Preparing and delivering presentations and functional reviews for Alaska senior management
Providing facilitation/strategic consulting expertise to various teams throughout the ConocoPhillips Alaska organization
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S, citizen or national or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, economics, mathematics, finance, accounting or other related quantitative field or foreign equivalent
5 years oil and gas experience
Intermediate commercial negotiating and/or economic evaluation experience
Experience developing contracts and agreements
Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills
MBA or graduate Finance degree or higher or foreign equivalent
Finance experience - business analyst / investment appraisal support roles
1 year of experience with the Long-Range Planning processes
Proven strong communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrated self-starter who can work independently with high standards of performance
Proven continuous-improvement focused
Upstream / E&P experience
Facilitation and/or Decision & Risk Analysis training and experience including building decision trees and probabilistic models
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
