ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.3 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2020. The company produced an average of 198 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2020. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope—Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates the Alpine Field and three satellites located on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.
If you are selected as the Sr. Cloud Analytics Platforms Engineer, you will participate in some of ConocoPhillips largest digital projects where data integration and analytics will build significant value for the business. Using cutting edge technology, you will adopt a Development Operations (DevOps) mentality to develop and support Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CICD) pipelines, data lakes hosted in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. This role is a member of the analytics platform IT capability team, often working with both local and geographically dispersed customers and IT technical teams.
As an integral member of the team, you will be instrumental in efforts to standardize analytics platforms globally help drive our enterprise cloud analytics strategy. You will also be a member of the Analytics Platforms Federated Cloud Team. As part of the Evolve model, you will be instrumental in assisting with our efforts in standardizing the analytics platforms supported globally.
Your responsibilities may include:
Hands on experience with cloud analytics and related technologies – AWS and Azure
Hands on experience with cloud analytics and related technologies – Upsolver, Domino, Denodo, Power BI, Spotfire, etc.
Experience in architecture and implementation of AWS or Azure based data lake solutions using native AWS or Azure services
Expertise in programming towards developing reusable, configurable, and modular frameworks (i.e. using python, AWS CloudFormation, AWS SAM)
Knowledge of core infrastructure requirements such as networking, storage, and hardware optimization as it relates to the cloud
Experience in DevOps methodologies using CI/CD standard practices to deploy infrastructure and resources needed to support long term scalability
Good understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and data warehousing practices
Good analytical and problem resolution skills
Ability to proactively engage customers to make recommendations and drive delivery
Ability to efficiently connect with both technical and non-technical audience
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Admin/Mgmt. Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, other related business field, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent
