Description:
ConocoPhillips Canada is currently recruiting a Plant Operations Shift Supervisor for the 2-10 Montney Operations team. This role is responsible for managing and supporting day to day responsibilities of the Plant Operations team. The Plant Operations Shift Supervisor will be responsible for managing the gas and liquid processing units and water transferring to achieve consistent unit performance, while delivering exceptional safety results, by providing hands on guidance and visible leadership to the facility operations team. The Shift Supervisor ensures product quality specs are met, equipment functionality and productivity is maintained, and detects and responds to active and potential malfunctions and equipment failures. The successful candidates will play an important role in the mentoring and development of the plant operators, and the success of the overall safety and production of the plant.
This is a 14/14 rotational position with the option to live local or camp accommodation with travel.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate safety leadership to the Montney operations team
Liaise with internal and external functional groups to ensure safe and reliable operation of the facility
Support the strategic and day to day responsibilities of the facility operators through coaching, performance management, coordinating schedules and vacation relief, timesheet approvals, and technical guidance.
Champion and ensure all ConocoPhillips processes and procedures are executed, including Life Saving Rules, Leadership and Safety Conversations, Lock out Tag out (LOTO), etc.
Provide mentorship and assessment in support of the Competency Assurance program
Actively interact with engineering and environmental functions to compile data to produce timely reports for the appropriate regulator.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies and requirements.
Actively interact with engineering and environmental functions to support projects and analysis integral to the success and optimization of the facility
Contribute to operational decision-making for balancing resources, assigning authority, and delegating responsibility.
Assume responsibility as Chief Engineer for the facility.
Ensure ownership of plant equipment and compliance with the work permit process and other critical safe work processes.
Coordinate activities with the Field Operations Leader, Maintenance Leader, Facilities and Engineering, and administrative personnel.
Ensure consistent participation and compliance with Process Safety, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Hazard Assessment and Organizational Learning.
Ensure all incidents are thoroughly reported and that subsequent action items are completed.
Required Qualifications:
Third Class Power Engineering certification
8 years of experience as a plant operator in the oil and gas industry
3 years of demonstrated leadership experience
Experience with HMI process operation
Understanding of amine sweetening, condensate stabilization, conventional refridge, compression, power generation/distribution, and plant utilities.
Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in commissioning, start-up and shut-down, trouble shooting and emergency handling of process operations
Experience with SAP
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Proactive, strategic thinker with analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and execute and delegate multiple tasks
