Description

The Gas Accounting Analyst has responsibility for accounting for natural gas volumes purchased and sold to third party counterparts by Commercial Gas Marketing using the CXL and SAP systems. If you are selected as the Gas Accounting Analyst, you will work in conjunction with a variety of groups, including Commercial and other corporate functions.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Provide accounting and analytical support to the commercial gas function

  • Actualize, analyze, and account for natural gas volumes purchased, sold, exchanged, stored, and transported by Commercial Gas

  • Work directly with external customers to ensure accurate accounting and cash exchange for gas activity

  • Crafting and maintaining a working level knowledge of gas accounting process

  • Identifying and resolving historical discrepancies associated with counterparties and activity

  • Exposure working with commercial gas traders, schedulers, analysts, treasury services, contract administration, master data, natural gas closing, and external counterparts

  • Training and developing employees

  • Complete AR-trade/AP-trade account reconciliations

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, other related field, or foreign equivalent

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel

Preferred:

  • 1 years of direct experience in an accounting/finance function

  • 1 years of experience working with SAP and CXL trading system (or other trading systems)

  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability and willingness to communicate with a wide variety of individuals with differing functional accountabilities

  • Efficient partnership, collaboration skills

  • Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right

  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
