Job Summary

The ConocoPhillips Real Estate and Facilities Services (REFS) Internship Program includes an exciting job assignment, a company and REFS orientation, field trips, social activities, weekly seminars, and opportunities to meet upper management. Your supervisor and your mentor will provide mentorship and guidance throughout your internship as well as periodic performance evaluations. Your internship will culminate with a presentation crafted to showcase your knowledge of your work assignments and other elements of your internship experience.

Job Description

As a Real Estate and Facilities Services ( REFs) Intern, the job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Intern, Real Estate Service Agent

  • Acquiring/leasing/disposing of surface real estate, office space, residential and warehouse facilities, including document preparation, negotiations, title review and closing.

  • Application of economic modeling tools for real estate investment decisions.

  • Negotiating complex property tax valuations with state and local agencies, preparing and presenting valuation protests/appeals to county assessment officials including appearing before administrative boar

Intern, Facilities Design and Engineering

  • Assist with upkeep of building systems such as but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, water/sewer, generators for back-up power, fire alarms and suppression

  • Coordinate support services provided by contractors

  • Ensure assigned properties are maintained in a safe and effective manner

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise

  • Prioritize workload and activities to support needs and develop weekly schedules with operations and maintenance teams

Assignments will be at our site located in Houston, Texas or Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Typical length of our internships varies from 10 to 12 weeks based on the project and your availability.

Real Estate and Facilities Services Overview

Real Estate and Facilities Services is a leader in blending global expertise for shared services to create innovation workplace solutions and facility services that optimize partner performance around the world.

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Certificate in Facilities or foreign equivalent

  • Current level in college: Junior, Senior or Graduate Student

  • Expected graduation date: Fall 2024 through Spring/Fall 2025

  • A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship

Preferred:

  • Willing to work in either of these locations: Bartlesville, OK, or Houston, TX

  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to deliver results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

  • Ability to generate effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical

  • Adaptability to respond resourcefully, flexibly, and positively when faced with new challenges and demands

  • Develop strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals
