Description

This position supports the Global Wells organization. This is a customer facing role in which you will be the main point of contact for the WellView application. You will be communicating and assisting over 1000 users in the field. This position also supports other technical applications used in the Global Wells organization.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Experience in a customer facing role

  • Will be the face of WellView and communicate to 1,000 users in L48 and Corporate

  • Assist users on drilling rigs and in the field

  • Act as a consultant to IT resources in each Business Unit

  • Hold meetings with IT counterparts across the Globe to provide standard methodologies and updates on upcoming technology changes

  • Act as Solution Integrator / Architect on all application related upgrades

  • Build and develop technical project plans

  • Lead and direct technology teams to execute deliverables

  • Build and lead technical testing

  • Lead technical execution plan for each business unit

  • Provide primary application support for the WellView application for Corporate, Houston Exploration and L48 business units

  • Assist office and field users with technical application issues (syncing and retrieving wells, log-on issues, data access issues, and database related issues)

  • Handle the Windows Servers (18) and their WellView-related services for each Business Unit

  • Maintain the Oracle databases from a performance perspective

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute technology upgrades for relevant technologies

  • Communicate standard methodologies and findings to counterparts in Global BU’s

  • Support the Peloton MasterView Data Warehouse service and database schema

  • Assist with management and editing of the Peloton UDL (User Defined Layer)

  • Manage WLR (Well Life Cycle Resources) audit system

  • Provide primary application support and handle SiteView-specific tickets

  • Find opportunities to move in-house hosted applications to COP’s cloud (IaaS), vendor hosted cloud (SaaS), or a hybrid model

  • Find opportunities to use emerging technologies like RPA, IOT, and analytics in the application space

  • Attend user group conferences for software and technologies

  • Ensure applications are audit ready

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Engineering, related technical discipline or foreign equivalent

  • 3 years of Information Technology experience

  • Beginner knowledge of Oracle databases and navigating via TOAD or another DBMS tool

  • Beginner SQL knowledge

  • Basic Spotfire knowledge

  • Ability to learn a new proprietary technology (Peloton framework and software)

  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot on Windows server

  • IIS

  • Scheduled Tasks

  • Custom Window Services

Preferred:

  • Experience with Peloton products (WellView, SiteView, ProdView, etc)

  • Advanced SQL scripting knowledge

  • Knowledge building views in Oracle

  • Knowledge of ConocoPhillips Drilling, Completions, or Production businesses

  • Experience with data modeling and crafting dashboards

  • Experience designing and optimizing system architecture

  • Experience with moving architecture to cloud platforms

  • Experience with designing and implementing RPA technology like UI Path
