The Houston Local Desktop team provides accurate and timely support and problem resolution for our internal customers. This technical role requires strong troubleshooting and effective communication skills. This role consists of resolving complex and everyday service requests related to PCs, servers, networks, hardware and software problems and malfunctions. The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and multitask is a must. Given the technical nature of the team and the broad range of skills needed, we require analyst be self-starters that can work on specific technical tasks with little or no supervision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required with the ability to perform well in a collaborative team environment. Strong generalist skill sets with advanced troubleshooting abilities required.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Windows 7, Windows 10, and MAC OS support

  • Office 365 product support including OneDrive

  • Core application support and upgrades

  • Manage tickets for operating system and desktop related support

  • Support the migration of Windows OS to the latest version

  • Global pilot testing and technical support

  • Provide desktop expertise and consulting to global projects

  • Microsoft Outlook and Support client configuration

  • Strong problem solving and excellent oral communication skills

  • Professional business appearance in a large Corporate office

  • Must be customer-focused, and able to easily explain issues that customers might have with their PC

  • Ability to balance work between multiple tasks and work well on teams

  • Ability to travel 20% of project duration

  • Setting up PC hardware with multiple monitors and hardware configurations

  • Meticulous cable management and familiarity with sit-stand desk setups preferred

  • Ability to assist end users with the installation of peripherals to include personal printers, card scanners, etc. This may require locating drivers online and installing deskside

  • Ability to maintain warehouse computer inventory via Service Now and weekly audits of hardware



  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • 5 years of troubleshooting experience within the Windows environment

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suites, Office 365, One Drive, Windows Operating Systems, networking, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Windows 10 troubleshooting

  • 3 years of experience with low level configuration and security of the Windows client operating system

  • 1 years of experience evaluating enterprise client hardware

  • Physical requirements:

  • Able to lift computer equipment that weighs up to 30 lbs. from the floor

  • Bend, stoop, crawl under tables/desks to connect needed wiring

  • Able to bend to pick up equipment and load a cart. Individual item may weigh up to 30 lbs.

  • Able to push/pull equipment on a cart of up to 100 lbs.


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or IT related field or associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or IT related field and 5 years of related experience

  • Interest and experience in the Energy industry

  • 5 years of desktop, server, and network/systems support

  • 3 years of experience evaluating enterprise client hardware

  • 3 years of experience with troubleshooting McAfee security products

  • Experience with Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

  • Strong Active Directory knowledge with experience in group policy administration

  • Experience in creating professional quality systems documentation

  • Ability to multi-task in a team environment

  • Effective written and oral communication skills
