Assist with medical oversight of Polar Tankers employees to standards of USCG and ConocoPhillips.
Responsibilities may include:
Assist with new hire process and orientations
Review and track annual physical and fit for duty tests and report results to appropriate ConocoPhillips staff
Work with clinics to ensure high standards and to obtain results in a timely manner
Handle and process medical records according to company standards
Review and update all forms as needed
Review Manuals and make updates as needed on an ongoing basis
Assist employee involvement with company health initiativesReview and process medical bills to assure billing is appropriate and customary for services rendered
Perform Case Management of employees on disability
Work with employees, physicians, and other health care providers to promote healthy return to work
Share on call duties for ship illnesses and injuries, which includes recommendations for treatment
Make recommendations and provide teaching to crewmembers
Assist with continued medical training to ships’ Medical Officers
Become certified in training specimen collection and breath alcohol testing in order to train deck officers
Learn and assist with Designated Employer Representative role for Drug and Alcohol program for Polar Tankers
Administer annual flu shots and other vaccines to Polar Tankers group
Visit vessels to assess learning needs and provide assistance, training, and educational opportunities
Work closely with HSE to promote health and wellness for employees
Work with ship and shore personnel to provide immediate employee injury/illness response and follow-up
Work closely with medical providers and facility management to ensure appropriate care for injured and ill employees
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor's Degree in nursing with Texas RN licensure
5 years of adult nursing experience in a hospital or occupational health setting
Case Management experience
Currently holds or can qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
Willing and able to travel 10% of the time
Case Management Certification
Ability to work well with people in potentially difficult and sensitive situations
Experience in writing policies and procedures
Good oral and written skills
Actively communicates and takes time to safely perform work to protect our people and environment
Responds resourcefully, flexibly and positively when faced with challenges and demands
Consistently demonstrates high integrity, behaves ethically, and follow through on commitments
