Eagle Ford Overview

ConocoPhillips acreage is located in the sweet spot of the Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Basin of South Texas. The company was one of the first to enter the play in 2009, and by year-end 2017 held approximately 210,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes and Live Oak counties. Since field inception, ConocoPhillips has produced more than 300 million barrels of oil equivalent from the field and continues to build the Eagle Ford into a legacy asset with production expected for years to come. In 2017, net production from the Eagle Ford averaged 133 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, with about 80 percent of the production coming from liquids.


The Maintenance Supervisor ensures and will help drive maintenance efforts across the Eagle Ford asset. The Eagle Ford asset is a 180 mboed (net) field with over 1,200 active wells and an annual operating budget of $265MM. The position will oversee and coordinate the maintenance of process and water handling equipment, field compression, and gas treating equipment installed at over 50 central facilities and central delivery point locations across Eagle Ford. The position will help the Eagle Ford asset meet its target Direct Operating Efficiency (DOE) goals. The position will be located in Kenedy, TX. On call and emergency response duties are expected of the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will report to the Eagle Ford Maintenance Superintendent. A market factor will be provided if eligibility requirements are met.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Ensures supervised activities are performed according to established procedures, guidelines and work schedules

  • Provide input into compression forecast planning to support gas lift and production operations for field

  • Being an active HSE leader and will support and implement safety initiatives in the field on behalf of the asset

  • Understand and apply safety and environmental standards as appropriate. Ensures compliance by all personnel working in assigned areas

  • Drives continued improvement processes in support of asset direct operating efficiency (DOE) goals

  • Provide input to annual Eagle Ford Operating & Maintenance (OPEX) budget for area of assigned responsibility

  • Works collaboratively with Operations on the deflect elimination process for process and driven field equipment

  • Ensures solutions are developed in a timely manner and that solution addresses root causes

  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations peers to ensure good goal alignment and that production targets are met

  • Oversee and provide collaborate input to the following M&R programs:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance Program (PPM)

  • Corrective Maintenance Program (CM)

  • Condition Based Maintenance Program (CBM)

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractor equipment suppliers and vendors

  • Oversee hourly maintenance employees in Eagle Ford field. Direct reports will total 20 or more employees

  • Promote inclusive and diverse work environment and provide mentorship on career development opportunities for hourly employees

  • Promote and participate actively in new technology driven initiatives such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) or other wireless technology to streamline process data collection and management from the field



  • 10 years of experience in oil and gas production and processing

  • Intermediate knowledge in SAP functionality and application of computerized maintenance management systems

  • Knowledge of equipment reliability improvement processes, defect identification & elimination, planning & scheduling and asset integrity programs

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel up to 15%


  • Bachelor's degree or higher or foreign equivalent in Engineering or other related discipline

  • Engineering and/or maintenance experience with well facilities operations and process equipment optimization

  • Engineering and/or maintenance experience with engine driven compression and gas treating equipment optimization

  • Engineering and/or maintenance experience in, or support of, production plant or gas processing facilities

  • Understanding of Integrated Operations (IOF) remote process control methods and applications

  • Knowledge of Eagle Ford maintenance and reliability processes, including PM, CM, CBM, RCM, and Defect Elimination

  • Working knowledge of preventative, corrective, and conditioned-based maintenance techniques and system utilization

  • Ability to strongly emphasize safety work expectations to protect our people and environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead a large organization while developing effective working relationships with supporting organizations

  • Strong written and oral communication

  • Strong organizational skills to manage a complex and growing business

  • Constantly searching for and implementing new ways of doing business to increase oil and gas production from the field
