Eagle Ford Overview

ConocoPhillips acreage is located in the sweet spot of the Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Basin of South Texas. The company was one of the first to enter the play in 2009, and by year-end 2017 held approximately 210,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes and Live Oak counties. Since field inception, ConocoPhillips has produced more than 300 million barrels of oil equivalent from the field and continues to build the Eagle Ford into a legacy asset with production expected for years to come. In 2017, net production from the Eagle Ford averaged 133 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, with about 80 percent of the production coming from liquids.


The Measurement Technician will support the Operations group and insure that contract obligations and lease agreements are aligned with in regards to the scheduling of meter test, calibration verification of the secondary element, inspection of the primary element, and natural gas sampling in accordance with ConocoPhillips Measurement Policies and Procedures.

At times, you will work alone and be responsible for scheduling and maintaining various types of measurement equipment as it pertains to the petroleum industry. The position will be required to pass and complete our respiratory program and willing and able to work under a supplied air system.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintenance and repair of measurement station and associated equipment EFM (Electronic Flow Meters), including the following

  • Meter tubes

  • Composite samplers

  • Radio communications

  • Positive displacement (PD) meters

  • Coriolis meters

  • Auxiliary pressure transmitters



  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • 3 years of working Measurement Experience

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


  • Associate's or Technical degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Technology

  • Working knowledge of AGA – 3 1985 &1992 Standards, API 14.3, and GPA 2166-86.

  • Proficient with Fisher ROC 107 and 800

  • Familiar with PD Meters

  • Familiar with Coriolis meters
