ConocoPhillips Alaska and its heritage companies have more than 50 years of business history in Alaska. As Alaska's largest oil and gas producer, the company produced an average 182 thousand barrels of oil and 9 million cubic feet of gas per day. ConocoPhillips, with about 1,100 Alaska employees, holds major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay Unit, the Kuparuk River Unit, and the Colville River Unit (Alpine). ConocoPhillips operates the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields, has an ownership interest in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Description

ConocoPhillips Global Aviation (Alaska) is recruiting for an Aviation Maintenance Technician position. This position will be performing a vast array of maintenance duties on multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, under arctic working conditions supporting the North Slope Aviation operations. The position is located on the North Slope of Alaska, with 12 hour work days, two week on two week off rotating work schedule.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide safe, reliable and efficient air transportation of company passengers and materials

  • Providing representation for company when dealing with the business associates, officials and customers

  • Performing duties including all aspects of aircraft maintenance, which will require knowledge of engines, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems

  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge of aircraft being maintained as well the Company and Federal Aviation Administration rules governing the maintenance

  • Record keeping associated with maintaining the aircraft as well as Company administrative functions

  • Being an active member of the aviation department, supplying ideas and recommendations for change and improvement individually and as a team member, solve problems, and accomplish additional tasks effectively and on time

Qualifications:

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate

  • 10 years of experience as an aircraft maintenance technician

  • 5 years of experience in aviation industry activities, regulations and practices associated with being an aircraft maintenance technician

  • Able to work in tight spaces, climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds, lifting weights up to 82 lbs, perform the duties of the position while exposed to harsh outside weather conditions including extreme cold and darkness.

  • Advanced knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, sound trouble shooting skills for all systems

  • Intermediate knowledge of computer-based records tracking systems

Preferred:

  • Inspection Authorization (IA)

  • Casa C212 and/or Honeywell TPE 331 experience

  • Viking DHC-6-300/400 Twin Otter and/or PT-6A engine experience

  • Dash 8 Q 400 field experience a plus

  • Experience with project planning and manual development

  • Be able to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines without onsite direction or supervision
