ConocoPhillips Norway is looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to work within the Wells organization.
The Norway business unit, and the Norway Wells organization, has embarked on a process to develop a step change in Data Analytics capability. To enable this change, processes and tools must be developed to manage large volumes of data and deliver visualization and analysis tools.
The measurement and analysis of performance related data will identify opportunities for improvement. This position will manage the reporting of operational performance data to mid / upper management. In addition, in collaboration with local IT and Corporate Wells Data Analytics teams, the position is responsible for identifying and managing Data Analytics improvement initiatives within the Wells organization, supporting Drilling, Completion, Intervention and P&A operations.
Lead “Big Data” and data analytics programs within the Wells organization;
Consult on use of databases and software for data analytics purposes.
Ensure adherence to data management / data governance policies.
Monitor and validate data flow into business intelligence applications.
Management of the cross functional process to identify critical data and to improve the quality and accessibility of that data
Development and roll-out of effective / value focused data visualization and analytics tools
Responsible for Wells performance management process
Develop dashboards and reports that maximize use of stakeholder time by providing high-value information quickly and easily
Provide upper management and partners with credible Wells performance analysis
Provide customized performance analysis and presentations for various Stakeholder meetings
Analysis of internal and external benchmark data
Coordination of Data Analytics knowledge sharing and appropriate training / mentoring within the Well organization
Master degree in Petroleum Engineering or an Engineering degree within Data Analytics or similar
5-10 years’ work experience within drilling / completion / intervention & P&A
Experience with business intelligence solutions including (TIBCO Spotfire)
Experience with databases used within wells; SAP, Wellview, Insite etc.
A solid understanding of well related data and it’s relevance to performance analytics
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visual Basic and Pivot tables.
Fluent in Norwegian and English, both in writing and verbally
Preferred Leadership Competencies:
Strong communication skills with proven ability to present complex ideas and document concisely
Excellent analytical skills and attention to details
Project leader/coordinator experience
The position is located onshore, at our office in Tananger.
