In Australia and Timor-Leste our exciting portfolio includes the Bayu-Undan gas-condensate field in the Timor Sea, Darwin LNG facility in the Northern Territory and Australia Pacific LNG facility in Queensland. We also have exploration and appraisal projects off northern Australia including the Greater Poseidon and Caldita-Barossa fields.
ConocoPhillips Australia currently has a position available working within the Environment team, based in Perth, supporting the world class integrated LNG processing facility.
The role will be responsible for providing day to day support and assurance to the Bayu-Undan offshore facility, gas transmission pipeline and Darwin LNG facility, whilst also providing input and support to the Darwin LNG life extension, Subsea tie in and decommissioning projects. This is a dynamic position with a broad range of stakeholders, regulators and environmental aspects.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
Ensure relevant operational licences are maintained and implemented to a high standard
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, keeping abreast of regulatory changes affecting environmental management practices
Coordinate the development, revision and approval of Environmental Management Plans, underpinned by detailed environmental risk assessments.
Coordinate the implementation of environmental monitoring programs and associated reporting (e.g. emissions, ambient air, marine, mangrove, ground and surface water)
Provide operational input into decommissioning planning, LNG plant modifications and engagement with upstream backfill interfaces, as required
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Degree level qualifications in environmental science/engineering
Strong technical knowledge of environmental management, legislation and approvals processes within the oil and gas industry
Minimum 3 year’s working experience at Environment Specialist/Advisor level within the oil and gas industry
Experienced in the development and submission of NGER and NPI reports
Working knowledge of the Safeguarding Mechanism and ACCUs
