Reporting to the HR Shared Services Director, the Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the HR SAP system, the Payroll function and the Payroll team. This role will be required to provide payroll services in a complex payroll system in SAP for employees in multiple locations with roster variations and multiple salary and benefit structures.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide payroll services to employees in ABU-West, APLNG, Timor-Leste, JPDA and Australian expatriates which includes complexities like roster variations across multiple locations, multiple salary structures and benefits associated with those locations
Provide Operational support of Human Resources modules (Personnel Administration, Organisation Management, CATS, Payroll and Travel Management)
Oversee the end of financial year process
Supervise two Payroll staff members including their performance management
Supervise monthly payroll, adhoc payroll payments, end of month payments, end of financial year payments and the maintenance of all employee data including the organisation chart.
Responsible for the maintenance and upgrades opportunities for improvement to the HR SAP system including scheduled maintenance, legislative changes and policy changes
Provide support along with training & development to the Payroll Team
Calculation of Employee Benefit
Coordinate and assist with SAP training and documentation initiatives driven from both corporate and the ABU
Provide assistance on HR systems issues and queries to HR Department
Assist in the analysis and implementation of systems and processes improvements
Act as Security Coordinator for ABU user group – Human Resources, including improvement and administration of roles
Partner with BU IT Analysts and Process Owners to define solutions to support business improvement initiatives
Partner with Global SAP Services extended Team to develop, test and implement solutions as part of the Work Request and prioritisation
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Degree or Certificate in Finance / Business / Commerce
7 years’ experience in an end-to-end payroll environment of which 2 years would be in an SAP environment.
A good working knowledge of SAP HR module covering all aspects of this module
Good interpersonal skills working with the power users from different local departments.
Strong experience with SAP payroll processes to support testing.
Solid background in end to end Payroll
Advanced excel capabilities
Good time management and analytical skills
Strong supervisory skills
